Skincare Tip #2

Last week I announced I’m doing a 5 part mini-series to help you make understanding Skincare so much easier! Well, get ready because here’s number 2 in the series.

Coconut oil should not go anywhere near your face!

Yes coconut oil is amazing and sure it has a use in your skincare HOWEVER it is a known pore clogger…that means that using this stuff on your face = seriously clogged pores and breakouts! Unless your skin is dry as a desert then we would steer clear of this ingredient (make sure you read what is in your skincare). We love using oils in our skincare…but we only use low/no comedogenic rated oils so that you stay breakout free.

Some of our favourite oils to use are:

  • Marula Oil - so damn versatile and manages to give you an even complexion, less oil production if you are Oily Skin and more oil if you have Dry Skin...basically a solid skin friend you can trust!
  • Camellia Oil - this bad boy locks in moisture and creates a barrier for your skin WITHOUT clogging things up and is absorbed by your skin incredibly fast...not to mention it has a long list of nutrients to keep that face looking youthful and hydrated.
  • Grapeseed Oil - another great oil that doesn't clog pores and helps to fight UV damage and even out your skin tone...yes please!
  • Safflower Oil - we call this guy the free radical fighter - want to defend your skin from the inevitable signs of aging...then you need to be including this oil in your skincare regime.
